Bible: The Scripture is The Only God’s – Inerrant, Infallible, Inspired – Written Revelation

Psalms 138:2 … for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Baptists believe in the ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY of the Word of God.

We believe the Bible is supernaturally given (II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:21; I Thessalonians 2:13), providentially preserved (Psalm 12:6-7; Psalm 119:89,160), and powerfully effective (Hebrews 4:12).

Baptists ascribe no such authority to the traditions, canons, creeds, historical writings, scholarship, or experiences of Christendom.

  1. Inerrant, Infallible, Inspired are absolutely the truth.

Truthfully speaking, there are no denominations spoken of in the Scriptures. They are the creation of men via traditions, canons, creeds, historical writings, scholarship, and experiences; including personal theories, opinions, standards, rules, regulations, constitutions, conferences and confessions.

You list yourself as Christian fundamentalist, yet you begin your post with a principle attributed to Baptists. Baptists are steeped in traditions of men; traditions that have opposed the truths found in the Scriptures. Their errant traditions became such a stumbling block to me, that I stopped referring to myself as a Baptist. When folks ask me, “What is your religion?” (I know they are asking to which denomination I belong) I reply, “I am a Christian.”

The one thing I have learned in my Christian walk of 56 years is that no one denomination has a lock on the truth; Baptists or any other denomination. I mean, there are 66+ plus Baptist denominations. Why? They have become more interested in defending their denomination than in defending and following after the truths of the Scriptures. Their pride has led them away from the truth. In essence, they have made themselves the “Final Authority” over the Scriptures.

When we finally follow solely after the Inerrant, Infallible, Inspired Word of God and stop defending, declaring and follow after denominational beliefs…we will finally become the ambassadors we are commanded to be.

    • >> The one thing I have learned in my Christian walk of 56 years is that no one denomination has a lock on the truth; Baptists or any other denomination.

this is true, no one single denomination has a lock on the truth.
yet, currently baptists denomination have more truth than any others.

so, in defending the truth, the correct way of baptism, priesthood of all believers, the authority of the bible (i.e. no more tounges speak, prophets’ miraculous signs), etc. — thus, i can never call mormon or jw or catholic as christian — in the end i can only call myself baptists than any other relatively more lapsed denominations.

      • When asked, “What is your religion?” my reply is “I am a Christian.” Why? Because you will not find one denomination ever mentioned in the Scriptures, but you will find the word “Christian.”

Claiming a denomination is akin to claiming race or culture or color; all of which tend to impede honest and open communication. For example, when I am speaking about a friend, I do not say “John, my black friend,” or “John, my Baptist friend,” or “John, my Chinese friend,” because everyone has preconceived thoughts about others that are of different from themselves and tagging someone’s race, culture or beliefs creates a barrier to trust and an opportunity to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

      • >> When asked, “What is your religion?” my reply is “I am a Christian.”
        yes. me to.
but whenever i have time, I will explain better that i’m not just another professing Christian that still bow to idols, still smoke, or those telling wrong prophecy, speaking tounges, etc.

as i explain before, claim denomination will better explain the distinction that differentiate you from other sects and cults.

i can spend the whole day explaining why baptism must be immersed, why sprinkling/pouring is not a baptism, why baby should never be baptist, why bible tell us no more prophecies after bibile finished, etc etc…
or i can simply tell that I’m a general baptist and the whole world can easily found what is that mean.

      • gospel is about differentiation and separation. Jesus always show and want us to show our differentiation from the world and also from other sects and cults claiming / professing to be christian. to be salt and light of the world is to show our differentiation.

you can only tell a fake money from a real one if you look very carefully what differentiate a real money from fake.
you can easily cheated with fake money if you only look at similarity.
that is exactly how ecumenism taking ‘christian’ into chrislam and in the end into one world religion

      • The elimination of denominations would solve the problem of ecumenism. Denominations are man-made creations and have nothing to do with the examples set forth in the Scriptures.

      • you can not differentiate real money with fake if you are not allowed to label and classified them.

imagine if all jw, sda, mormon, catholics must only called with single name: christian.

you are dragging the wolfs right into the middle of the sheep and forbidding everyone to label them to make differentiation and separation from them.

      • i think we have to agree to disagree on this topic.

i can clearly see this is exactly what pope is doing, elimination of denomination and gathering all into one world church and eventually will bring all into one world religion.

God clearly said in 2Cor6:17 Wherefore come OUT from among them, and be ye SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

how can we get out of something we can not clearly label?
by labeling denominations we can clearly see the differentiation.
by saying he is jw, we can clearly know he is wrong believing Jesus is Michael.
by knowing she is catholic we know clearly she is in pagan idolatry and pray to the dead, both those God hate.
by knowing they’re charismatic we know clearly they’re deceived with tongues and wrong prophecies and they do not even realize they’re trying to become prophet or apostles or even claim to be messiah.
        etc… etc…

      • 2 Thes 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, NOTE that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

NOTE THEM for they’re not Christian even though they professed to be. label them so we can be separated from their error.
